Summary:
In the article “Taming Macho Ways,” Elvia Alvarado describes women are treated differently as men during a period of time that they even work harder than men. They didn’t have enough rest time each day that they had to get up very early for their family’s breakfast and taking care of children during the midnight. Instead, the men didn’t do any work at home. In addition, women were usually beat by their husband after they got dunk. However, they didn’t want to tell anyone about this embarrassing thing. Even though they tell their parents, sometimes their parents didn’t give some supports “You knew what he was like when you went to live with him, so why did you go with him in the first place?” Therefore, she wants to struggle for a fair way between couple.
